Overview

A modern SaaS for taxi operators — real-time dispatch, driver assignment, passenger booking, routing and an operations dashboard. The system replaces phone-and-paper dispatch with a single live view of the fleet, built on Laravel for the backend and React with TypeScript for both the operator dashboard and the passenger-facing interface.

The problem

Operators ran on phone calls and paper, with no live view of drivers or trips. Dispatchers had no way to see which drivers were free, mid-trip, or where a car actually was on the road, so assignment was guesswork and disputes over fares or routes had no record to check against. Passengers could not track rides in real time and had to call back repeatedly to ask where their driver was.

The solution

Full-stack SaaS with WebSocket tracking, automated dispatch, a mobile-first passenger app and a live fleet dashboard. Pusher carries driver location and trip-status events over WebSockets, so the dispatcher’s map and the passenger’s tracking screen update the moment a driver’s position changes, without polling the server. Google Maps API handles route calculation and live position rendering, and PostgreSQL stores trips, drivers, fares and history behind a Laravel API that both the React dashboard and the passenger app consume. The whole stack runs in Docker containers, so the environment tested in development is what ships to production.

Role

Full Stack Developer — architecture, backend API, frontend dashboard, real-time infrastructure. Responsible for the data model connecting drivers, trips and fares, the Laravel API layer, the React operator dashboard, and the WebSocket infrastructure that keeps dispatch and tracking live. TypeScript types are shared across the API contract where practical, so a trip or driver record changes shape in one place instead of drifting between the backend and the dashboard.

Result

In production for active operators. Dispatch overhead down over 60%, passengers see every ride live. Dispatchers now assign drivers from a live map instead of a phone call, and trip history is queryable instead of scattered across paper logs.
